MARC MUINZER
FOUNDER
Marc Muinzer was born and raised in Lafayette, IN. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Biology and received his MBA from Loyola University in Chicago. In 2002, with the acquisition of a duplex rental next to Purdue University, he founded Muinzer, a student housing focused private equity firm. Today, with 100+ employees and offices in Los Angeles, Knoxville, Auburn, West Lafayette, and Chicago, Muinzer is one of the largest owners and operators of student housing in the Big Ten and SEC. In 2021, Marc was awarded Purdue University's College of Science Distinguished Graduate honor.
MICHAEL SNYDER
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Michael joined Muinzer in 2016 as Director of Acquisitions and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in April 2019. Michael is responsible for sourcing acquisitions, underwriting, conducting due diligence, securing debt, and the general oversight of the Muinzer portfolio. Prior to Muinzer, Michael was Investment Manager for Starwood Waypoint Residential Trust, a leading single-family rental REIT. He was responsible for Chicago acquisitions and grew the portfolio to 1,200 assets.
STACY DEBRUYNE
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Stacy DeBruyne, a Purdue University alumna, began her career in Student Housing in 2010, where she was honored as Property Manager of the Year in 2014. Joining Muinzer in 2020, she swiftly ascended to the role of Managing Director by 2022. With experience spanning both third-party management and ownership/management assets, Stacy brings extensive expertise in property operations, transitions, and finances to the Muinzer team.
SHELBY SANDERS
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
Shelby Sanders launched her career in student housing in 2011 after graduating from Purdue University, and she became part of Muinzer in 2021. Previously, she held positions such as Area Sales Manager, Regional Marketing Director, and Regional Marketing and Training Director, earning the title of Regional Marketing Director of the Year in 2018. With her career predominantly focused on managing teams as a road warrior, Shelby brings a wealth of experience in student housing, particularly in leasing, training, and marketing, acquired from working in over 30 markets across the United States.
Caitlyn Barrick
Director of Property Management
Caitlyn’s Student Housing career began in 2014, and subsequently joined Muinzer in 2020. By 2023, she had been promoted to the position of Regional Director, and in 2024, she was further promoted to Director of Property Management. Her expertise lies in guiding teams through transitions and providing training, honed through her involvement in numerous student communities nationwide.

Director of Facilities
Nathan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Muinzer from his extensive experience in construction and building management. His career journey began in 2005 with home construction, and by 2007, he transitioned into excavating work. Serving as a foreman, he effectively oversaw teams comprising 15-20 members. In 2013, Nathan ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing his trucking company, which later evolved into a comprehensive contracting enterprise encompassing paving, concrete, septic installation, and excavating services.
Nathan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Muinzer from his extensive experience in construction and building management. Steve Teegarden
Director of Finance
Steve joined Muinzer in 2024. He is responsible for the portfolio's accounting and investor reporting, and helps drive treasury operations and financial systems. Prior to Muinzer, Steve's spent 15 years leading fund accounting and financial reporting teams at Brookfield Properties, Ivanhoe Cambridge and Core Spaces. He is a licensed CPA.
